Got this bad boy to go along side my other large printer (Anycubic Chiron) for some large, but not THAT large or prints.
I haven't printed anything besides level tests and configure prints. but those have turned out great!
Compared to my (mostly) stock Chiron, it is SUPER quiet, both the drivers and the motors, and that's a plus right there.
The auto leveling bed sensor is GREAT and makes me want to upgrade my other printer to use the same thing.
So far this thing has been awesome, from easy set up and usability to the quality parts they use.
I'll update once I get some prints out of it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ender-3 Max Neo is a great, large print, very capable, 3d printer right out of the box!

The Creality Ender-3 Max Neo is one of the latest additions to the Ender-3 family and is one of their new Neo versions. The Ender-3 Max Neo is a refresh of the original Ender 3 Max with a few upgrades and improvements that make it an impressive offering out of the box.

This is actually my 2nd Ender-3 Max Neo, as it hit the sweet spot of a large print bed, Auto Bed Leveling, Dual Z axis leadscrew and motor, and the new(ish) rotary dial, color screen (I really like this color screen with rotary dial, and I prefer it over the touch screens of some of my other printers). I also have (5) other 3d printers including an Ender-3 V2 and an Ender-3 S1 Pro. The Ender-3 line has had incremental upgrades and changes since the original Ender-3, so far, culminating in the new Ender-3 S1 and S1 Pro and now the new Neo versions. While in some ways, the Ender-3 Max Neo is the same as the Ender-3 Max including the 300x300mm build plate and the Bowden design, the new Neo version has a few major differences. One of the biggest is the addition of the CR-Touch auto bed leveling sensor, which for many printers and users is a game changer.

Another of the major changes is the addition of a 2nd Z lead screw with a synchronization belt. On a printer with the print height that it has, it is a very welcome addition! The Neo version also comes with an all-metal extruder, 32-bit mainboard and the same color screen with rotary wheel that comes on the Ender-3 V2 and Ender-3 S1. All these upgrades add up to a very capable and easy to use, large format printer.

The Ender-3 Max Neo comes mostly pre-assembled which is quite a difference from the original Ender-3 and it very easy to assemble. One of the things I did discover though is that the gantry assembly rests in a foam piece that is placed on top of the base and is really a two-person job just to get it out of the box. The gantry assembly is attached to the base via the wire harness and as it is a fairly large printer, it is a bit of a juggling act to remove the gantry assembly, the hard foam insert and the base. I would recommend getting an extra set of hands to help.

Once you have everything out of the box, the actual assembly is straightforward and doesn’t take a lot of time. Once everything is assembled, before you plug it in, make sure that you check/change the power supply voltage selector to the correct voltage. If you are here in the US, that means switching it to the 110V option. So far, every Creality Ender-3 printer I have bought needed to be switched.

Now that everything is assembled, the correct voltage has been selected and it is plugged in, the fun begins! If this is your first Ender-3 or 3d printer, I would recommend checking out a few online videos or tutorials and familiarize yourself with the machine. The color screen and UI is a welcome change over the LCD screen that many 3d printers came with since the beginning. While they were easy to use and did their job, I much prefer the new color screens and UI. I especially like the rotary knob and even prefer it over the touch screen that my Ender-3 S1 Pro comes with.

The Ender-3 Max Neo comes with a Carborundum Glass bed that has been the go-to on many new printers that last couple of years until recently and now many new printers are coming with a PEI coated, spring steel, magnetic, removable bed. I have both types on my other 3d printers and they both have pros and cons but overall, they both work well. The glass bed is held on with (4) clips so if you want to change to a spring steel, removable print bed it will be an easy thing to do. If you do change the bed, make sure you adjust the Z-offset to account for the change in height.

The printer itself is fairly quite thanks to the 32-bit mainboard but the fans are pretty loud. One of the 1st upgrades I will probably do will be to change out the fans for quieter ones. One of my 1st 3d printers was the Anycubic i3 Mega S, that I also got on Amazon, and it was quite loud, and I had to change the stepper drivers and all of the fans and now it is extremely quiet. Honestly, so far, the fans are about the only thing I can see that needs to be changed and that is saying something coming from me because I upgrade and modify just about everything! The Ender-3 Max Neo comes with most of the upgrades that enthusiasts, like myself, usually add or upgrade first, especially the Auto Bed Leveling probe (CR-Touch).

Thanks to the addition of the CR Touch, the 1st layer is now much easier to get right the first time and I had no adhesion or any other issues with any of my prints so far. Any artifacts or issues were due to my print settings in the slicer and once I tweaked a few of those, all of my prints turned out great. One thing that I, and many others in the industry, have noticed is that, recently, Creality seems to listen to their customers, and they don’t rest on their laurels when it comes to their products! The new Neo line of upgraded printers is a testament to that!

Overall, I love the Creality Ender-3 Max Neo and all the upgrades, additions and features the new Neo version comes out of the box with. I can definitely recommend this 3d printer to anyone from the newbie to the experienced hobbyist looking for a very capable, large format 3d printer!
